Customer Reviews in the UAE: Collect, Verify and Publish

A practical, consent-based review system for UAE businesses across Google, WhatsApp and their own website.

01

Choose the review destination before asking

A Google review can strengthen local discovery, while an approved testimonial on your website can answer objections close to an enquiry form. The same request should not push a customer through several platforms. Decide which destination matters for the next business goal.

For local service businesses, keep the Google Business Profile accurate and use a direct review link. For the website, collect the customer's preferred name, context and explicit permission for the way their feedback will be shown.

02

Ask at the right moment

The best request follows a genuine positive outcome: a completed appointment, a resolved support case, a successful handover or a confirmed result. Automating the timing is useful, but the message should still feel connected to the customer's experience.

A short WhatsApp or email request normally works better than a long questionnaire. Explain why the review helps, provide one clear link and make it easy to decline.

  • Trigger the request from a verified completed stage in the CRM.
  • Avoid incentives that could distort the review or violate platform rules.
  • Do not filter customers by asking only likely five-star reviewers to post publicly.
03

Verify and store consent

A message sent privately is not automatically permission to publish it with a name, photograph or identifying project details. Keep a clear record of the approval and the exact text or media that can be used.

If the customer asks for a change or removal, update the website promptly. For regulated or sensitive services, confirm the appropriate legal and professional requirements before publishing case details.

04

Design a review block that helps a decision

A wall of anonymous praise is weak evidence. Place relevant feedback near the service, product or step it supports. Include useful context such as the type of problem solved, while avoiding invented numbers or details the customer did not approve.

Make third-party reviews distinguishable from testimonials hosted on your own site. Do not add review schema for claims that are not eligible under current search guidelines, and never mark up fabricated ratings.

05

Respond and improve the operation

Respond to both positive and critical reviews professionally. A negative review is operational data: record the issue, investigate it and close the loop. A calm public answer can demonstrate accountability without exposing private customer information.

Track request rate, completion rate, channel and recurring themes. The goal is not only more stars; it is a credible system that reveals where customer experience can improve.

Questions

Useful answers before the next step.

Can a WhatsApp message be copied to a website?

Only when you have appropriate permission for the text and any identifying information. Keep evidence of what the customer approved.

Should a business buy or exchange reviews?

No. Manipulated reviews mislead customers and can violate platform policies. Build a consistent request process around real completed work.

How should a business handle a negative review?

Acknowledge the issue without exposing private details, move the resolution to an appropriate private channel and use the feedback to improve the process.
